Chen Xiaoping, a researcher at Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, led the team in the study of the relationship between malaria and AIDS and found that malaria infection was beneficial to the removal of HIV repository. Relevant results published in December 9 in the Journal of Retroviology. According to reports, Chen Xiaoping established monkey immunodeficiency virus (SIV) and malaria co-infected rhesus monkeys model to simulate human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and malaria parasite infection. Based on this animal model, the research team found that malaria infection facilitated the clearance of HIV repositories under ART and preliminarily elaborated on its mechanism.
