有人说,人类对于海洋的探索是对于宇宙探索的第一步。中国虽然不是海洋国家,但是一万八千公里的海岸线在世界上堪称第四。据悉,早在距今7000年前的新石器时代晚期,中华民族的祖先已能就以原始的舟筏浮具和原始的导航知识开始海上航行,中国和地中海国家一样都是世界海洋文化的发祥地。夏、商、周时代,由于木板船与风帆的问世,人们已开始在近海沿岸航行到今日的朝鲜半岛、日本列岛和中南半岛。春秋战国是我国古代航海事业的形成时期,人们已累积了一些天文定向、地文定位、海洋气象等知识,初步形成了近海远航所需的技术和相关的知识,
