今年三月一日,是中国美术界一代宗师王子云先生的百年诞辰。提起王子云,有人很熟悉.有人还陌生。这熟悉,是因为他的名字已经不可湮灭地镌刻在中国现代艺术史上;这陌生,则因为他的坎坷经历和特立独行,曾经长久将自己屏蔽于热闹场外。六十多年前,他是第一位被法国艺术界收入《现代艺术家辞典》的中国画家;他是第一位率团考察敦煌的中国学者;他是中国第一部雕塑艺术史的撰写者;他是勘遍中国和欧洲各国雕塑艺术宝藏的世界旅人;他是诸多艺术大师走上辉煌之路的荐引人和铭心感念的师长;他是中国现代美术界一位名副其实的开山元老,是一个献身艺术、生死不弃、经磨历劫、老而弥健,以整个生命书写艺术春秋的世纪老人。
