长春市朝阳区位于市区中南部,面积366平方公里,人口60多万。朝阳区是长春市的知识密集区,科技力量集中,科技优势十分突出。区内有吉林大学、吉林工学院、长春光机学院、长春地质学院、白求恩医科大学等20多所高等院校,中科院所属长春应化所、物理所等60多个科研院所,还有20多家国有大中型企业,长春高新技术开发区的大部分都座落在我区。尽管我区有这些得天独厚的优势,但在过去并没有发挥好,全区经济发展缓慢,长期处于落后状态,是个有名的“行政大区,经济小区,财政穷区”。

It is a famous “administrative area, economic district and poor financial area.”
