形义统一是《说文解字》说解汉字的基本原则,这一原则根植于汉字的表意本质,在许慎之前有着悠久的思想、学术传统。在思想史层面,儒家“正名”思想是形义统一原则的宏观来源。在语言文字学层面,秦汉字书的编纂思路、收字标准为《说文》的形义统一原则提供了学术启示,秦汉字说对汉字字形、字意的沟通是《说文》释字原则的直接来源。《说文》充分继承了传统“小学”对汉字形义统一规律的认识,在系统性的高度上,全面彻底地证实了汉字的表意本质。
The unification of form and meaning is the basic principle of explaining Chinese characters by Shuo Wen Jie Zi. This principle is rooted in the ideographic nature of Chinese characters and has a long tradition of thought and academic tradition before Xu Shen. In the aspect of ideological history, Confucianism “name ” is the macro source of the principle of the unity of form. At the level of linguistics, the compilation ideas and collection standards of Qin and Han dictionaries provide an academic enlightenment for the principle of unity of meaning and form of “Shuo Wen”. The communication between Qin and Han characters and Chinese characters is the principle of “Shuo Wen” The direct source. “Shuowen” fully inherited the traditional “primary school ” understanding of the law of unification of Chinese characters, on the systematic level, fully and completely confirmed the ideographic nature of Chinese characters.
