The Ministry of Education commissioned Peking University and Zhengzhou University to hold a crystallography teaching seminar in Zhengzhou from September 7 to September 25, 1983. Nearly 200 participants, from 104 universities and colleges in 28 provinces and autonomous regions nationwide. This is the second event after 1954. Tang Youqi, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a famous crystallization chemist and professor at Peking University, presided over the conference. He gave speeches on the basic knowledge, basic theory, latest development of the crystallization chemistry and its application in various disciplines. His report aroused great interest from deputies.
