China Education and Research Network (CERNET) is the first nationwide academic computer network in China funded by the Chinese government. It is chaired by the State Education Commission. Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Southeast University, South China University of Technology, Northeastern University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and University of Electronic Science and Technology, a total of 10 colleges and universities since 1994 Commitment to construction, by the end of 1995 through the national appraisal.
