Aluminosilicate refractory fiber belongs to man-made inorganic fiber and it is the fastest-developing thermal insulation material in refractory fiber. It is regarded as the third generation of refractory material. Because this type of material overcomes the brittleness of ceramic materials inherent to refractory bricks and amorphous refractory materials, it is also referred to as a soft, high-temperature material. Due to its outstanding thermal insulation performance, after the world energy crisis in 1973, countries competed to develop and use refractory fiber to make furnace lining materials directly. According to foreign reports, a rolling mill in the United States used refractory fiber to transform five hood furnaces to save fuel 15 %, the weight of the cover is reduced by more than 7 tons, and the energy saving effect of the refractory fiber lining is significant, saving 26% of the gas and increasing the output by 10%.
