乌尔禾-夏子街断裂带是一个晚石炭世至三叠纪发育起来的大型逆掩断裂带,断层主要发育在三叠系以下层位,侏罗系以上近于单斜形态。目前已在二叠系、三叠系和侏罗系发现油气藏,其中侏罗系含油层位主要集中在八道湾组,油藏类型以地层和岩性油气藏为主,原油遭受次生改造作用较强。通过对该区侏罗系典型油气藏的解剖证实,油气是沿断裂运移至侏罗系底部不整合后发生侧向运移,上倾方向遇稠油遮挡在底砾岩或水进砂体中成藏。这一认识已得到勘探实践证明。
