Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) usually refer to companies with fewer than 500 employees and no full-time computer administrators. In the European Community, such small and medium-sized enterprises employ approximately 100 million employees, which account for two-thirds of the total population of the European Community. In the United States, 54% of employees are employed by SMEs, which accounts for half of the total number of private companies. In China, SMEs account for 80% of the total number of domestic companies and are now booming at an unprecedented rate. SMEs exist in all walks of life, with the highest percentage in service industries such as hotels, restaurants, wholesale and retail, healthcare, real estate, hospitals, trading companies, publishing, accounting, and legal affairs. The range is very different, but they have the same office needs - rely on PCs and printers, scanners, etc.
