辣椒在自交后代中可分离出雄性不育株。若是两用系类型,其不育性受细胞核内一对或两对隐性基因所控制。不育株雄蕊退化,没有花粉或花粉无生活力,育性在白蕾期或初花期可拨离花药识别。辣椒两用系原种,可在隔离区内人工授粉繁殖。利用不育株与杂交组合父本杂交,可获得高纯度杂交种。
