This article reviews the airborne data computer and some components on site and in the lab. The article discusses three aspects of reliability. The first part describes the predicted and actual Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) relationships and explains some of the seasonal fluctuations in the actual mean time between failures. Also explores the month and year ups and downs. The second part explains some of the effects of repair processes on reliability growth, changes the repair method, and reliability improves over the long term. The third section discusses in quite detail the failure analysis and improvement of a component first-line potentiometer.
