运城地区夹马口扬水工程,是1960年建成的一座大型提黄灌溉工程,扬程70米,装机10台,9700千瓦,抽水流量9.5米~3/秒,设计灌溉面积40万亩。受益区主要是临猗县7个乡镇,近3万个农户。由于加强管理,工程效益得到了较好发挥,使灌区粮棉亩产量分别由建站初的150斤、30斤、(皮棉),提高到600斤、100斤,每年向国家提供商品小麦6000余万斤。在临猗县粮棉基地建设中起到了巨大的作用,曾多次受到上级表彰。
