中国有句俗话：“家丑不可外扬”，意思是说家庭内部有不体面的事，不宜对外人讲，以免让外人笑话，丢了面子。所以很多人对家丑是能掩则掩，能遮便遮，外人即使知道其家丑，语言上也要小心翼翼地避开，以免别人尴尬，自己也下不了台。 我就曾因为不小心扬人家丑而遭遇尴尬。
There is a saying in China that “a housewife can not be promoted” means that there are disgraceful things within the family and should not be told to outsiders in order to avoid joking and losing face. So many people are able to cover their houses and hide their secrets. Even if an outsider knows his house ugly, he / she should avoid language embarrassment even if he or she is ugly. I have been embarrassed because I accidentally summoned people ugly.
