汉源县九襄邮政支局的廖洪元自从1963年跨进邮局大门,背起邮包行走乡村邮路以来,一干就是35个春秋。他走遍了汉源县的8个乡、2个镇的村村社社,每天行程30多公里。他时刻牢记“迅速、准确、安全、方便”的人民邮电服务宗旨,严格要求自己,对邮政工作兢兢业业,为农村用户排忧解难,服务上门,收订报刊,查投疑难信件,为群众带交信函,代购物品,受到群众的赞扬。由于山区邮路条件差,廖洪元冬天顶风雪,夏天顶烈日,晴天一身灰,雨天一身泥,涉洪水、趟泥潭,两条腿长期处在湿热环境中,使他患上了风湿关节炎。但每当风湿复发,局里人员紧,无人顶班时,廖洪元就手拄拐棍,坚持投送邮件……
