抗战初期 ,任弼时作为八路军第一任政治主官 ,对抗战初期的八路军建设作出了重大历史贡献。一是依据党中央、中央军委确定的军事战略方针 ,努力从思想上、政治上保证八路军军事战略转变的实现 ;二是在创造“抗日的模范军队”中 ,大力加强八路军的军政素质建设 ;三是在民族战争的特殊条件下 ,积极创造八路军政治工作的新思路、新方法。
