1980—1982年在西北农学院同位素实验室,利用特制光合室在阳光下给棉苗喂饲~(14)CO_21小时,接蚜并用纸罩控制与吸收蜜露,分别将虫体与纸罩投入闪烁液中,测定其放射性活度。结果表明:不同龄期的棉蚜,其~(14)C 近似吸收率不同,若虫期吸入量的71.2%以蜜露的形式排泄掉,虫体(含蜕)近似吸收率为28.8%,成虫期为23.5%。在抗蚜品种上取食的棉蚜,其近似吸收率在23.5—26.7%之间,在感蚜品种上取食的达28.1%以上,前者如金塔草棉、军海1号、上海605等,后者如乌干达2号。其结果与大田测定相一致。
