There is a lot of indirect evidence that aplastic anemia (AA) is immune-mediated. In the past two years, the role of activated lymphocytes (expressed as HLA-DR ~ +, Tac ~ + or Ia ~ + T8 ~ +) and interferon (IFN) in the inhibition of aplastic anemia has been studied.
