[Objective] The research aimed to investigate the indoor air pollution after decoration in home and office space in a certain oil area and conduct a preliminary analysis on the indoor air quality in the oil area. [Method] 62 sets of home furnishing and 13 office places from 0 to 12 months after decoration were selected randomly from the oilfield base and all major production and living areas nearby to carry out formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, ammonia, Total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, environmental radiation testing. [Results] The mean concentrations of formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, ammonia and TVOC were (0.07 ± 0.19), (0.04 ± 0.18), (0.10 ± 0.24), (0.12 ± 0.31), (0.13 ± 0.36) 0.39 ± 2.06) mg / m3, both of which exceeded the standard. Among them, formaldehyde exceeded the highest rate of 28.9%; followed by TVOC, was 9.0%. The highest standard of formaldehyde in bedroom was 58.9%, which was significantly different from that in living room and study (P <0.01). There was no significant difference in the exceeding rate of each pollutant in different places in the office (P> 0.05). According to the pollutant concentration analysis of <3 months, 3 ~ 6 months and> 6 months after decoration, the exceeding standard rate of formaldehyde and ammonia had significant difference (P <0.01). [Conclusion] Formaldehyde has the highest rate of over-standard in all detected pollutants, which is still the pollutant that needs to be paid more attention. The indoor air quality in this area is less affected by oilfield production.
