The third part introduces the multi-scale reproduction method. This method takes into account the very important microscopic phenomena associated with the degradation of composites, including fiber breakage, interfacial debonding, fiber overload, and mold viscoelastic properties. The results of the analysis are used to accurately predict the macroscopic failure of the fibers in unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composites and to quantify the damage build up in the same pressure vessel. The method also describes the acoustic emission behavior due to the failure of the fiber and how to predict the residual life of the pressure vessel.
