This article analyzes the multiple reflections of the ECL signal on the transmission line. The transient voltage expressions at the beginning and the load point of the transmission line under concentrated load and distributed load are deduced. The input and output characteristics (edge, internal resistance and input capacitance) and transmission line parameters (characteristic impedance and length) of the ECL circuit are described for these The relationship between the number of transient voltages. By means of a computer, the voltage waveforms under various parameters can be predicted. Therefore, the system's “transmission specifications” can be determined at certain system requirements (such as given surge voltage or undershoot voltage); circuit design can also be useful in terms of circuit interconnection. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental results.
