作者用不同密度的彭亨丝虫微丝蚴人工感染5个不同地理株的致乏库蚊。致乏库蚊除马来亚株外,还有来源于利物浦的4个选育品系,即坦桑尼亚株、上沃尔特株、尼日利亚株及委内瑞拉株。各株蚊虫经饲养2~3代后的成蚊,穿过3~10天小鸡皮肤作成的薄膜刺吸含彭亨丝虫微丝蚴的阳性血液(血液内加肝素),供血动物体内微丝蚴的密度幅度为每立方毫米1.3~20.4条。将饱血蚊虫饲养10~12天后进行解剖,并分别记录蚊虫的头、胸和腹各部位的幼丝虫数目和发育期别。
The authors used 5 different geographic strains of Culex pipiens pallens to infect microflora of Paenia alba with different densities.
