《神童诗》顾名思义,是所谓“神童”之作。全书充满着唯心论的先验论和反动的“天才观”,它们是《神童诗》的理论基础。《神童诗》中“自小多才学,平生气更高”,“神童衫子短,袖大惹春风”等黑话,大肆宣扬“天赋之才”、“无师自通”,实质上就是孔孟宣扬的“天生德于予”、“生而知之”那一套。《神童诗》的编者以此毒害、欺骗少年儿童,让小孩子顶礼膜拜那些所谓的“神童”,目的是要为反动统治阶级培养忠实的奴仆。
