党的十二大提出到二○○○年实现工农业年总产值翻两番的宏伟目标。“六五”期间要有重点地开展企业的技术改造,“七五”期间广泛进行企业的技术改造。为实现十二大提出的宏伟目标,作为生产原材料的冶金工业,必须搞好自身的技术改造,不断提高经济效益,努力生产适销对路的、物美价廉的冶金产品,以适应国民经济各部门的技术改造和实现翻两番的需要。这既是冶金工业今后发展的方向和正确途径,也是冶金工业部门、企业和职工面临的一项艰巨任务。
