This speech elaborates on the trend of China’s architectural development and three objectives: 1) Catch upwith and surpass world level so that Chinese architecture can merge with the rest of the world; 2) Deepen educational reform, improve educational quality and promote the overall development and progress in China’s architectural education. To meet these objectives we must first clarify the objectives of education and compile educationand teaching programs and construct a new course system. Secondly, we must have a correct understanding ofand properly handle the relationship between educational accreditation standards and registered architect examination standards. Also, we must strengthen the link between the educational and engineering circles and improve the qualities of the teaching staff; strengthen exchanges and cooperation between architectural departmentso f different universities so that the overall educational level can be improved. 3) Go our own way and develop architectural education of Chinese characteristics.
