1980年3月,日本三洋电气公司推荐了一种采用发光二极管的平板式彩色电视机,它具有6144个彩色图象单元或彩色发光二极管。这些发光二极管仅仅4毫米厚。当由一个沿垂直方向排列的公共正电极和两个沿水平方向排列的负电极给每个图象单元供给电流时,图象单元会显示出彩色。
In March 1980, Japan’s Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. recommended a flat-panel color television with a light-emitting diode, which has 6144 color image units or color LEDs. These LEDs are only 4mm thick. When a current is supplied to each picture element from a common positive electrode arranged in the vertical direction and two negative electrodes arranged in the horizontal direction, the picture element shows color.
