明传奇《绣襦记》的作者历来有郑若庸、徐霖、薛近兖、无名氏四种说法。“郑若庸说”属于误记。“徐霖说”的主要缺陷在于,周晖在《金陵琐事》中的相关记述存在孤证不立的问题,许多文字也是因袭、拼合前人的结果,其所记徐作七种戏文皆无对证,甚至还有误记。薛近兖也不是《绣襦记》的作者,因其经历与受青楼之赂而作《绣襦记》的传言完全不符。更为重要的是,《绣襦记》见诸舞台演出的时间比薛近兖要早得多。因此,笔者认为《绣襦记》的作者还是署无名氏为妥。
