Q: I and a few friends wanted to establish a private enterprise in Yunnan. I would like to know what preferential policies the Yunnan Province has for private enterprises in terms of finance and taxation. Chen Guang: According to the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government in 1998 The promulgated “Decision on vigorously developing the individual and private economy” stipulates that the private economy, finance, and preferential support should be given proper care. Governments at all levels have identified 100 key private enterprises as determined by the provincial government, as well as engaged in poverty alleviation projects, advantageous resource development projects, and production of marketable products, high-tech products, and exports.
