近几年,浙江省经济的发展突飞猛进,给浙江省的邮政运输业带来了发展的契机。特别是航空和自办汽车邮路运邮发展更加迅速。截止1996年底,全省邮路总长度(单程)已达85222公里。其中一级干线省际自办汽车邮路8条、6711公里。开办夜间自办汽车邮路22条、2812公里,航空邮路64条、37888公里。全省干线邮路交接2个频次以上有63个局,双频次率达86％。浙江日报当天见报率有47个局,24点以前到达的有16个局,合计占全省总数的86.3％。全省已拥有邮政汽车1200辆。
