刘燕君,这位从上海闸北旅游职校毕业的年轻人,在豫园的南翔馒头店“闯”出了一片天地。由于家境贫寒,在面临升高中考大学和读职校快就业这两个选择时,她还是决定走后面的这条路。以优异的成绩从闸北旅游职校毕业后,小刘来到了豫园的南翔馒头店。在平时的工作中,外语一直是小刘的一块“心病”。在豫园这样一个老外们都竞相前往的旅游景点,不能说上几句英语将是一件非常糟糕的事情。可是小刘看见外宾就发慌,只要老外们稍微问得详细些,她就“哑巴吃黄连,有苦说不出”,只能用微笑来表示她的无奈。
