王瑶水库位于延河支流杏子河上,在延安以上65公里处,主要以防洪为主,兼有灌溉、发电、养鱼等任务。水库流域面积820平方公里,总库容2.03亿立方米,多年平均径流量4080万立方米,多年平均输沙量902万吨,库容已淤积8200万立方米。库区由杏子河及其支流岔路川组成,迥水长12～15公里,平均宽度杏子河550米,岔路川280米,原始河道比降4.2％。1972年9月大坝主体工程建成后,即投入运用。大坝坝高55米,坝顶高程1190.7米。泄洪排沙隧洞位於大坝左
