本文根据《大学英语课程教学要求》论述了开设大学英语选修课的必要性和可行性,并提出了大学英语选修课的模式,即压缩传统大学基础英语课时,进行新生入学英语等级测试;实行四年不间断选修英语课程;选取科技英语或与学生专业有关的专业英语为基础选修课,甚至必修课;推行双语教学,实现大学四年英语学习不断线。最后,文章探讨了开设大学英语选修课程的条件,即规范教学管理;探索新的授课方式和考核评价方式;不断地进行教师业务培训和进修。
This article discusses the necessity and feasibility of setting up college English elective courses according to the requirements of College English course teaching, and puts forward the model of college English elective course, that is, compressing the traditional college basic English class and carrying out the English entry level test for new students; Years of uninterrupted elective English courses; selection of technical English or professional English related to student majors as a basis for elective courses, or even compulsory courses; implementation of bilingual teaching to achieve the university’s four-year English learning line. Finally, the article discusses the conditions for setting up college English elective courses, that is, standardizing teaching management; exploring new teaching methods and assessment methods; and constantly conducting teacher business training and continuing education.
