甘薯薯块在收获、搬运和貯藏过程中,常常受到多种病菌的侵害,造成大量的霉烂。其中以黑斑病菌、软腐病菌、干腐镰刀菌等为害尤甚。 要使甘薯在貯藏与运输途中不发病,减少霉烂损失,必须防止上述病菌的侵害。据报导,中国科学院上海有机化学研究所合成的抗菌剂“401”对多种真菌有很高的抗菌效力[1],并经试验对抑止黑斑病菌有显著效果[2、3]。1962年初,浙江粮食研究所在杭州应用七种化学药剂进行防止鲜甘薯霉烂试验,也证明用“401”气熏处理效果较显著。同年秋收后为了进一步系统考察“401”防止鲜甘薯霉烂的药效和经济效果,在浙江省20个县市,
