察尔汗盐湖是青藏高原柴达木盆地东南部最低洼地区中的一个干涸盐湖,南北宽20—40公里,东西长168公里,总面积5856平方公里,是世界上最大的内陆干盐湖。 该地区夏季炎热,冬季干冷,温差变化很大。据气象资料,历年地面极端最高温度为62—69℃,极端最低温度为28.9—33.4℃。多年平均降水量23.4毫米,平均蒸发量3518.5毫米,蒸发量高于降水量150倍。
Chaerhan Salt Lake is a dry salt lake in the southeastern part of the Qaidam Basin in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is 20-40 km wide from north to south and 168 km long from east to west with a total area of 5,856 km2. It is the largest inland dry salt lake in the world. The area is hot in summer and dry and cold in winter, and the temperature varies widely. According to meteorological data, the extreme maximum temperature of the ground surface over the years is 62-69 ℃, the extreme minimum temperature is 28.9-33.4 ℃. The average annual rainfall of 23.4 mm, the average evaporation of 3518.5 mm, the evaporation is higher than the precipitation of 150 times.
