Since the late 1970s high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE) low-pressure gas-phase industrial production, the development of LDPE is still strong. Tetra Pak, the world’s leading provider of food processing and packaging solutions, announces that its plant in Brazil will fully supply its customers with liquid food packaging containing Biomass Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). At the Tetra Pak plant, a biomass-based low-density polyethylene from sugarcane will replace the original outer and laminate plastics. Take a 1 000 ml Tetra Pak aseptic package, for example, where renewable biomass can be as high as 82% due to the new biomass plastic plus the middle cardboard layer.
