At present, the situation of environmental heavy metal pollution is aggravating day by day, which makes the organism’s health and the environment for its survival seriously threatened. In order to counter this adverse environment, organisms display a defense mechanism, that is, the expression of heat shock protein gene changes. Under conditions of exposure to heavy metals, heat shock protein expression plays an important role in protecting cells from damage or in restoring damaged cells. The author summarizes the effects of heavy metals on the expression of heat shock protein 70 and 90 gene in the body and explores the possible pathogenesis and existing problems.
