稻红瓢虫(Alesia discolor Fabricius)又名稻小红瓢虫、亚麻红瓢虫。据王震霖、徐培桢、韩昌旺、肖刚柔等研究,大都认为稻红瓢虫是水稻害虫。如肖刚柔所著《水稻害虫》中,有这样的记载:“稻红瓢虫在水稻扬花期间,取食花粉,以至稻谷多成空壳,影响收成,常使产量减少2.1—11%。” 作者于1972年在洪湖县堤街公社的几块早稻田里,发现大量的稻红瓢虫,一个稻穗上多者有20头,一般也有10头左右;并且还看到该虫在水稻扬花时取食花粉。为了深入研究,作者当时曾捕捉了
