非球面光学零件的应用不断扩大,数量要求越来越多,质量要求越来越高。过去靠熟练的技工加工,加工效率低,劳动强度大,重复性不好,不能适应成批生产的需要。因此各国都在不断探索新的加工技术。计算机控制加工非球面透镜是六十年代以后发展起来的一种新技术。目前欧美一些技术先进的公司,已在不同程度上采用这种新技术。例如美国的佩肯·埃尔姆公司的电子光学分部用这种技术加工各种尺寸的天文用非球面零件。英国朗克精密公司的光学分部和美国贝尔·豪厄尔公司用计算

In the past by skilled craftsmen processing, processing efficiency is low, labor-intensive, poor repeatability, can not meet the needs of mass production.
