湖北荆门市西郊的象山东鹿有一座三百余年历史的高中学府,她饱吸山水之灵气,顺应时代的足音,培育了一批批优秀人才。她就是湖北省首批二十八所重点高中、湖北省“五一劳动奖”集体奖获得者——荆门龙泉中学。坐落在山水之间的龙泉中学,始终以培养学生素质为己任,课内打基础,课外求发展。于1998年成立了岚光文学社,几年来,在国家级、省级报刊发表作品三百余篇,有的获国家级大奖,有的被电视台拍成电视片向公众播出。社刊《岚光报》得到名人专家的青睐与扶植,曾多次获得全国优秀校刊评比一等奖。
