As a collection of anthropological poems about the Akuwuwu, “the talk of the Mississippi River” shows the theme of broadening its coverage to Indian ethnic groups in addition to continuing the concern of self-nationalities in past poems. Both Indians and Yi nationalities have splendid national culture, facing similar crises and other similarities in modern society. As a visiting scholar, he witnessed the situation of Indians in the process of witnessing the cultural conflicts in North America. He sought to excavate the distant history of this ethnic group in India and find out its continuous spiritual features to mourn for its declining status quo. At the same time, after gaining such a cross-cultural vision, he became more and more aware of the identity of the self-ethnic group, trying hard to respond to the experiences of his own national culture and seeking to seek continuity between the two in their own circumstances Way to find a spiritual destination.
