Located on the plains of eastern Henan, Kaifeng is one of the historic cities in the Yellow River basin. It is the third most important ancient capital in the history of our country after Chang’an and Luoyang and has the reputation of “the capital of the seven dynasties”. Whether it is the rise of Weidu Girly in the Warring States Period, the reconstruction of Zhuozhou in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the flourishing of the Northern Song Dynasty in Tokyo, or the decline of the Kaifeng City in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, all have close relations with the Yellow River. Before the Jin and Yuan dynasties, especially during the heyday of the Northern Song Dynasty in Tokyo, the Yellow River was still north-east flow through the city of Pizhou and 200 km away from Kaifeng in the south of the Yellow River. Therefore, most of the previous rivers were mostly in the north bank and flooded mainly in the northern part of the North China Plain.
