人的身体上有些与生俱来的标志,俗称胎记(Birthmark)。在古代,胎记往往被赋予迷信的意义,例如十八世纪以前,迷信观念认为胎记是母亲情感的反应。如果一个儿童有显而易见的胎记,则提示了母亲有相应的情绪困扰;如果伴有其他影响形象的先天畸形,甚至可能被周遭当做“妖怪”而受到不公正的对待。当然,现代医学没有任何支持先天性畸形与母亲的精神世界有关的证据。家长们关心的往往是孩子的胎记究
