Radioimmunoassay was used to determine the concentration of ANP and Ang Ⅱ in eight heat-stressed rabbits. The dry-bulb temperature was 42 ℃ and the wet-bulb temperature was 35 ℃. The results showed that when the rectal temperature increased from 399 ℃ to 43 ℃, the plasma levels of ANP and AngⅡ increased from 2277pg / ml to 2668pg / ml (P <005) and from 2607 4pg / ml to 38379pg / ml (P <005). At the same time, respiratory rate (RR), heart rate (HR) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) increased as well. MAP increased only by 08kPa . When animals continued to heat up to 166 min, ANP and AngⅡ increased to 3399 pg / ml and 79230 pg / ml, respectively, but the animals had lower RR and HR. The MAP decreased from 111kPa before heating to 4.5kPa (P <005). This result may be related to the heat stress injuring the cardiovascular system, resulting in the release of ANP and AngⅡ into myocardium.
