McIntyre’s concept of social practice is that he uses virtue to oppose the doctrine core of capitalism, liberalism and modern democracy or non-democracy. Although Marx clearly expressed this concept in the analysis of the revolutionary practice of the working class, McIntire thought that its theory was far from sufficient. However, Maxwell himself just intends to put forward his own plan. This article examines one example: McIntyre believes that the Welsh mining community of the 19th and 20th centuries should belong to the modern community of virtues. By discussing the continuity and break between McKinsey ’s early Marxism and its later mature ideas, the article points out that this example deviates from McIntire’ s general ethical theory and brings problems to his practical concept. This also implies that there is room for bridging between his mature thought and early Marxist understanding.
