山西省第一届人民代表大会第一次会议,听取并审查了省人民政府裴丽生主席关于「山西省人民政府向全省第一届人民代表大会第一次会议的工作报告」后,一致认为:近五年来,省人民政府在中国共产党和中央人民政府的领导下,依靠人民的力量,并在人民监督之下,胜利地进行了各项社会民主改革工作,完成了国家经济恢复时期的各项工作任务;特别是从一九五三年进入国家的社会主义建设时期以来,我省国民经济得到了更大的发展,社会主义经济比重有了显著的增长,人民的物质生活和文化生活也有进一步的提高。所有这些,说明了省人民政府近五年来的工作成就是显著的。对工作中的缺点,报告中也作了适当的批判,全体代表对这一报告表示完全满意。
