鸡血藤与大血藤名称互混,互为代用,而前者为补血活血、通经活络药;后者为清热解毒、消瘀散结药。代用不妥,今将二者鉴别介绍如下。鸡血藤又名红藤,为豆科植物密花豆(Spatholobus suberectus)和香花崖豆藤(Millettia dielsiana)的根和藤茎。密花豆茎呈扁园柱形,表面灰棕色有纵沟。横断面可见小形的髓,偏向一侧,木部淡红色,细孔(导管)排列不规则,皮部有树脂状分泌物,呈红棕色或黑棕色,与木部相间排列呈偏心形的环。气微,味涩。香花崖豆藤茎呈园柱形,表面灰黑色。横断面髓小,木部淡黄色,有多数细孔。在皮部有黑棕色树脂状物。气
