The Windows NT version of RealSecure, an ISS (Internet Security System) company, gives network managers an unforgettable tool for monitoring TCP / IP networks. ZD Labs tested beta version of RealSecure and lab engineers found it could detect a large number of intrusions, including SATAN scanning, SYN floods and ping bombs. The user can also reset the TCP / IP operation, which can be useful for stopping employees from breaking in to other machines or accessing restricted outlets. Although the beta version of the ZD lab test does not include detection of a Windows-based network intrusion, ISS officials said RealSecure will be able to decode Microsoft’s Common Internet File System / Samba for Windows network environments when it is officially released.
