我国是世界上生产和使用农药最多的国家之一。全国有1000多个农药厂,生产杀虫、灭菌、除草、杀鼠剂等250多个品种,500多个制剂,年产原药24万吨,可加工成药70多万吨。 1994年3月,国家农业部、卫生部的有关负责人痛心地向社会公布:农村实行生产责任制,农药使用者由过去的60万个生产队扩大到了1亿多农户,估计直接接触农药的不下两三亿人,使农药中毒的机率大大增加,据不完全统计,近年来,全国农药中毒人数年均超过10万,生产性和非生产性中毒的比例约为1∶1。
