Relevant agencies in the Internet are considering revising the old architecture and replacing the existing IPv4 with IPv6. It is therefore important to understand the relationship between IPv6 and the third level of exchange. IPv6 makes it easier to implement Layer 3 switching in some ways. The most basic point when starting communication between two hosts is to know how to send packets to each other.
