米老排(Mytilaria laoensis H. lec.)俗名壳菜果、马蹄荷、三角枫、米显灵(广西壮语),是金缕梅科的一种常绿高大乔木,树高30余米,胸径80厘米以上。米老排是喜温热的树种,大致半年平均气温在20℃,最冷月平均气温11℃的等值线是米老排的分布北界。在我国主要分布于北热带、南亚热带地区,包括广西西南部(十万大山、大青山、那坡、靖西、德保)、广东西部(阳春、信宜、封开) 和云南南部。垂直分布多在海拔250-800米的低山、丘陵的中下部和沟谷两旁的天然林中,为上层巨树。海拔1,000米左右为垂直分布上界。但它亦有一定的耐寒能力,北移浙江省富阳县的米老排(该地年平均气温为18.1℃,最冷月7.2℃,极端低温-5℃),尚能生长良好。7

Commonly known as shell cauliflower, Horseshoe lotus, triangular maple, Mi Xianling (Guangxi Zhuang language), is an evergreen tall Hamamelidaceae trees, tree height 30 meters, diameter 80 cm or more. Mi Laotai is a hi warm tree species, roughly six months the average temperature at 20 ℃, the coldest month average temperature of 11 ℃ contour is the old rice distribution north boundary. In China, it is mainly distributed in the northern tropical and southern subtropics, including southwestern Guangxi (Shivhuashan, Daqingshan, Napo, Jingxi and Debao), western Guangdong (Yangchun, Xinyi, Fengkai) and southern Yunnan.
